Some power shifts happen quietly. This one happens on her knees. New stills from “The Affair Was Just the Beginning“ have just dropped, and they capture a moment fans have clearly been waiting for — the complete reversal of power between its two leading women.
What The Drama Is About
The black comedy follows a popular influencer couple who’ve built their public image around being the perfect happy family — until they get entangled with their next-door neighbors, a married doctor couple in the middle of a bitter divorce. What starts as scandal spirals into something far bigger than a simple affair.
What The New Stills Reveal
In the standout images, Kyung Hee (Kim Hye Soo) looks down coldly at Soo Jung (Cho Yeo Jeong), who’s now on her knees — a striking contrast to her usual elegance. Having gained leverage over Soo Jung’s most devastating weakness, Kyung Hee has clearly flipped the dynamic entirely, and the stills radiate an icy, unsettling tension.
The Affair Was Just the Beginning: Character Snapshot
| Character | Actor | Moment Captured |
|---|---|---|
| Kyung Hee | Kim Hye Soo | Coldly dominant, holding new leverage |
| Soo Jung | Cho Yeo Jeong | Intimidated, stripped of her composure |
| Jae Hong | Kim Ji Hun | Frozen after witnessing something shocking |
| Bo Sung | Kim Jae Chul | Lightly stepping ahead, preparing to open his own hospital |
Elsewhere, Jae Hong appears visibly shaken after witnessing something significant, while Bo Sung seems oblivious to the unraveling drama, cheerfully moving forward with plans to open his own hospital. A separate set of stills shows Kyung Hee, Soo Jung, and Jae Hong in a tense face-off after watching a shocking video together.
Adding another layer of unease, young characters Min Seo and Ye Ji are shown watching the adults’ chaos unfold — hinting that the children’s own secrets may soon crack the story wide open.
The next episode airs August 14 at 8 p.m. KST, and if these stills are any indication, it’s shaping up to be a pivotal one.
