Intel 12th Gen Alder Lake processors launched: Here's all you need to know

Intel has finally been able to revive its lost position in the market with new 12th Gen Alder Lake processors and that is evident from the latest sales reports. As shared by TechEpiphany, these Alder Lake processors are giving Mindfactory (a German retailer) more Intel CPU sales than ever.

There was a time back in August when the same retailer reported that AMD was clearly dominating with over 80% market share, well, now with 12th Gen Alder Lake things have changed a lot. As you see in the third week of January, AMD had 1880 units sold Intel had 1535 units sold and the ASP or Average Selling Price for AMD was 334.15 euros and for Intel, it was 276.43 euros.

The platform costs for Alder Lake still forces buyers to go for AMD, whose platform costs are a lot cheaper which is why out of the Top 5 CPUs in the list, we have 4 of them from AMD. The best-seller was the Ryzen 5 5600G, followed by the Ryzen 7 5800X and the Ryzen 5 5600X, which helped AMD make 59.69% of the revenue.

On the other hand, for Intel, the Core i7-12700K, Core i5-12600K, flagship Core i9-12900K and other 12th Gen CPUs did make a good impact on Intel’s overall sales. On the other hand, even the discounted 11th Gen chips like Core i5-11400F have good demand among fans who are looking for an affordable PC build.

This has raised Intel’s revenue to 40.31% and it is evident that as days pass if 12th Gen platform costs decreases, Intel is all set to be back on level terms with AMD.
