“Teach You a Lesson” Just Made Netflix History — Here’s How Big It Really Is

South Korean dramas keep rewriting Netflix’s record books. The breakout hit “Teach You a Lesson” has officially cracked the platform’s All-Time Most Popular Non-English TV Top 10 — joining an incredibly exclusive club.

How Big Is This Achievement?

After eight strong weeks on the platform, Teach You a Lesson has pushed into the number ten spot on Netflix’s all-time non-English TV charts, sitting alongside giants like the Squid Game trilogy, Money Heist, and Lupin. It’s only the fifth Korean drama in Netflix’s history to ever land on this list, following Squid Game, All of Us Are Dead, The Glory, and Extraordinary Attorney Woo — and of those, only Squid Game has managed to hold its spot long-term.

The Numbers Behind the Hype

With a hefty runtime of 10 hours and 41 minutes, the series has racked up an astonishing 643.3 million hours viewed. If ranked purely by hours watched rather than the newer views metric, it would actually sit at number five on the all-time list, ahead of Lupin: Part 1 and Money Heist: Part 3.

Its growth trajectory tells a classic word-of-mouth success story. The show premiered on June 5, 2026, and saw a massive 229% jump in its second week alone, before holding the global number-one non-English spot for four consecutive weeks straight.

Where Will It Land Long-Term?

Netflix locks in its all-time rankings based on a show’s first 91 days, which for this series closes on September 4, 2026. Based on current viewership decay trends, the show is projected to finish its run around 65.6 to 66.7 million views — enough to comfortably secure the number ten spot, though likely not enough to overtake Lupin: Part 2 or La Palma above it. A stronger-than-expected hold could still let it edge past Lupin: Part 2, but climbing further remains a long shot.

What This Means for K-Dramas on Netflix

This milestone cements Korean dramas as a consistent global powerhouse on the platform, not just a passing trend. With Korean dramas increasingly dominating international charts, expect Netflix to keep doubling down on the genre in its content strategy going forward.
