ADAS is coming to Tata Nexon in 2024!
ADAS is quickly evolving into the next key selling point for automobiles. The MG Astor was the cheapest ADAS-equipped vehicle on sale in India up until a few days ago. Its ADAS version costs ₹16.9 lakhs.
However, with the introduction of the new Honda City, the starting price to purchase an ADAS-enabled vehicle has decreased to ₹12.37 lakhs. Given that ADAS will soon be available in many more vehicles, the entry price of cars in India with ADAS features is projected to decrease much lower.
Everything related to Tata Nexon’s ADAS!
Tata has been working with ADAS technology for a while now. It would significantly raise the vehicles’ safety rating, for which Tata Motors is renowned. In addition to the 4/5 star crashworthiness, Tata Motors hopes to provide its consumers with an additional safety net with the ADAS suite. Recent indications imply that the business intends to include ADAS technology in the next Tata Nexon makeover. In this way, Tata Motors appears to incorporate ADAS technology into its line of sub-4-meter SUVs.
In practice, Nexon facelift may end up becoming the first ADAS-equipped vehicle in its category and possibly the second-cheapest ADAS-equipped vehicle in India. Recently, a camouflaged Nexon makeover has been seen testing on roadways. With Nexon’s makeover, only minor exterior changes are anticipated, and the overall look is likely to remain very identical to that of the previous generation.
An exterior update with contemporary LED DRL positioning, headlamp positioning, and bumper design is anticipated. Furthermore probable are new alloy wheels and a modified rear bumper. Inside, Nexon might have a new 10.25″ touchscreen panel that promises significantly greater graphics and responsiveness.
Similar features to Safari ADAS in Tata Nexon The new 7″ digital instrument TFT cluster, which replaces the previous unit shared by Tiago and Tigor, is also likely. This update also includes a new 2-spoke steering wheel. The design of this would be comparable to the one displayed with the Curvv idea. ADAS technology is now only available with Tata’s premium SUVs underneath the new Red Dark Editions.
Lane change assistance and adaptive cruise control are absent from Tata’s ADAS suite. The addition of these via an OTA update at a later time is not yet certain. Starting at ₹21.77 lakhs, Red Dark Edition with ADAS is available for Harrier and Safari. The company sold a total of about 2,600 Harrier and Safari vehicles in January 2023. But concurrently, Nexon sold more than 15,500 units.
Tata could reach a considerably wider audience with ADAS through Nexon than it did with Harrier and Safari. The existing 1.5L diesel engine will remain with the Nexon makeover. The 1.2L turbo-petrol engine, meanwhile, will be altered to provide greater power. Instead of 118 horsepower and 170 Nm of torque, plan on 125 horsepower and 225 Nm. Probably by the end of 2023, the Tata Nexon Facelift will launch.
