    Mahindra Scorpio is like forwarding the legacy one step ahead which was launched last time in 2002. After twenty years the iconic brand entered with modern design, advanced features, more variation, and most importantly affordable price.

    Mahindra has been making waves with its recent SUVs, the carmaker has teased its fanbase with a video of what is likely the Mahindra XUV900 Electric Coupe. This car is a part of the brand’s ‘born electric’ range of electric SUVs that will be launching on the 15th of August.

    Mahindra XUV900 features elements of Formula E in its performance:

    The upcoming XUV900 will not just be from the ‘born electric range’ but will also be a global SUV. This SUV is designed at the Mahindra Advanced Design Europe or MADE facility under Pratap Bose, the CDO (Chief Design Officer).

    We have access to a teaser from the carmaker where it shared a glimpse of the interiors of the upcoming SUV where a square-shaped steering wheel with its log can be seen on the display. The central dashboard area will stretch to the back of the vehicle, separating the driver and passenger sections.

    In addition to this, Mahindra shares how it has integrated its learnings from Formula E into the upcoming car. A while back, the automaker released a teaser that showed off a unique aerodynamic design of the wheels.

    Mahindra XUV 900 Electric Coupe

    The external shape has been retained by the car maker and the details of the tailgate are not visible with the heavy camouflage cover. Mahindra has likely used the XUV 300’s unit. It was previously confirmed that a longer 4.2m length for the upcoming EV is as compared to the sub-4 meter XUV 300. The XUV300 is likely to come with additional space for passengers and boot storage in a longer size. The XUV 400 will be powered by a single motor tuned to deliver an output of 150 bhp, 7bhp which makes it more than the output of the XUV 300.

    Apart from this, not much is known about the XUV 400, the EV is expected to arrive with the latest connected tech and ADAS features from the XUV700. The XUV 400 or XUV 300 EV was first showcased at the Auto Expo 2020 where the company also displayed an electric version of the KUV.

    The final pricing of the car is not out here, the XUV 400 EV is expected to be priced at Rs. 15 lakhs which will pit it against the top-selling passenger electric vehicles in India. Mahindra has confirmed that it will roll out its Born EV SUV range on the 15th of August. We will get a total of nine new vehicles as a part of this range.

    Global NCAP tested the base variant of the SUV which comes with dual airbags, ABS with EBD, and ISOFIX child seat mounts.

    Mahindra XUV300:

    Mahindra XUV300 is the safest compact SUB hat you can buy in the Indian market. Before, Tata Punch, it was Mahindra XUV300 which was the safest car in the Indian market. It scored 16.42 points out of 17.

    It comes with Cornering Brake Control, all four disc brakes, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, panic braking signal, ISOFIX child seat mounts, collapsable steering, and side intrusion beam as standard.

    TATA Nexon:

    The Nexon was the first car made-in-India car to score 5 stars in a Global NCAP crash test. Nexon has a score of 16.06 points. It gets dual airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, Traction Control, Roll Over Mitigation, Hill Hold Control, Electronic Brake Prefill, Brake Disc Wiping, and ISOFIX child seat mounts as standard.

    TATA Altroz:

    The Altroz is the safest premium hatchback in the Indian market, it scored 16.13 points out of 17. Tata offers dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, Cornering Stability Control, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and a collapsible steel column as standard.

    Renault Triber:

    Renault Triber is the most affordable MPV in the Indian auto market, it scored 11.62 points in the test but the bodyshell was rated as unstable.

    The Triber scored a 4-star rating on the crash test.

    Renault Kiger:

    Kiger 2 1 India's Safest 4 & 5 Star Rated Cars: Mahindra XUV700 to Tata Punch

    Renault Kiger is based on the same platform as the Triber MPV. Both share the same CMFA+ platform. Due to this, Renault is expecting a crash test rating of 4 stars.

    The Nissan Magnite:

    The Magnite is also based on the CMFA+ platform and shares its underpinnings with the Kiger. It has not been tested by Global NCAP yet but ASEAN NCAP has tested the compact SUV and it scored a 4-star rating.

    The Adult Occupant Protection score is 39.02 and the Child Occupant Protection score is 16.31.

    Volkswagen Polo

    The Volkswagen Polo is one of the oldest hatchbacks in India. It scored 12.54 points out of 17. So, it has a rating of four stars, the Polo comes with dual airbags and ABS as standard.

    Tata Tiago and Tigor

    Tata Tiago and Tigor both scored 12.552 points out of 17. That means they have a four-star rating on the crash test. Both come with ABS and EBD, Cornering Stability Control, and dual airbags.

    The body of the Tigor and Tiago are rated as unstable.

    Mahindra Thar

    The Mahindra Thar or four-star Thar has been hugely successful in the Indian market, it scored 4 stars in the Global NCAP crash test and 12.52 points out of a total of 17 points.

    Mahindra also discontinued the side-facing rear seats because the NCAP suggested that they would be unsafe for the rear occupants.

    Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza

    The Vitara Brezza is the safest vehicle by Maruti Suzuki, it scored 4 stars in the Global NCAP crash test.

    It scored 12.51 points out of 17 for adult safety but just 17.93 points out of 49 for child protection. Maruti Brezza comes with ABS with EBD and dual airbags as standard.

    Tata Tigor EV

    The Tigor EV is the most affordable electric vehicle that you can get in the Indian market. It scored 12 points for adult safety and 37.24 points for child safety.

    Tigor EV was rated 4 stars in the crash test. It comes with dual airbags and ABS with EBD as standard.

    Mahindra Marazzo

    Mahindra Marazzo has scored 4 stars in the Global NCAP crash tests. This makes Marazzo, the safest MPV in the Indian market. It scored 12.85 points out of 17 in the adult safety rating and the body shell was rated as stable.

    Mahindra offers dual airbags, ABS with EBD, all-disc brakes, ISOFIX child seat mount, and crumple zones as standard.

    Tata Punch

    Tata is known to make the safest vehicles in India. The Punch is based on the ALFA platform which is shared with the Altroz premium hatchback.

    The Punch is currently the safest vehicle that you can buy in the Indian market, it has scored 16.45 points out of 17. The punch comes with dual airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts, ABS with EBD, and Brake Sway Control as standard.
