Manchester United has identified Cavani replacement for long term

Manchester United has identified a potential long term replacement of Edinson Cavani. Cavani has joined United on the deadline day in a free transfer. The Uruguayan striker has signed a 2-year deal with the Red Devils.

But Manchester United is now looking for a long term replacement who can fill the boots of Edinson Cavani when he retired.

Manchester United has identified Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez as the perfect replacement for Edinson Cavani. The Argentinian had an excellent last season and caught the eye of multiple big clubs. FC Barcelona was linked with Lautaro but failed to sign him.

The 23-year-old striker has scored 21 goals in his 49 appearances last season. His excellent performance for the club gave him the opportunity to play for his own country.

According to the reports of Don Balon, Manchester United wants the striker and they need to pay £108 million if they want him in their team.

Edinson Cavani is yet to make his debut for Manchester United. He has completed his self-isolation and joined the practice with the team yesterday. He is very excited to make the debut.

“I am going to experience an exceptional moment, that nobody thought would happen. It will be an incredible thing, beautiful emotions.”, Cavani said.

“I had a lot of different opportunities, I was excited to play in the Premier League and even more so for Manchester United.”

“I am very motivated because I always want to play as much as possible, work, train and give the best of myself.”, he added.

Manchester United is full of young talent upfronts with the likes of Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, and many more. If they are able to land the Argentinian forward then it will be a great addition to the squad.

  • Edinson Cavani can change Manchester United’s fortune

Edinson Cavani can change Manchester United’s fortune

Manchester United finished the signing of Edinson Cavani on the deadline day. He was one of the surprise signings of Manchester United on the transfer deadline day. He will be wearing the iconic No. 7 jersey in Manchester United.

Edinson Cavani was a free agent this season. He left Paris Saint-Germain this June after his contract expired. The Uruguayan striker was not happy at PSG as he became irregular in the starting line-up. PSG manager Thomas Tuchel favoured Argentine striker Mauro Icardi.

Cavani joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2013. In his 7 seasons for the French Club, he has scored 200 goals in 301 appearances.

PSG and former Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera said, “He asked me for advice.”

“I told him it’s one of those teams that you can’t say no to. The pity is that you will not be able to enjoy the fans. Old Trafford is unique.”

United boss Ole Gunnar Solsksjaer looks very optimistic about his new striker. Ole said, “Edinson is an experienced ultimate professional who always gives everything for his team. His goalscoring record for club and country is fantastic and we are delighted to sign a player of his caliber.”

“He’ll bring energy, power, leadership, and a great mentality to the squad but, most importantly, he’ll bring goals. He has had a brilliant career so far, winning trophies at almost every club he has played for, and he still has so much more to give at the highest level.”

“The opportunity for our young players to learn from one of Europe’s top goalscorers over the last 10 years is fantastic and it will really benefit them going forward.”

“Edinson knows exactly what it takes to succeed and we are all looking forward to seeing him make an impact at Manchester United.”

Edinson Cavani is a good addition to the Manchester United squad. He is a proper centre-forward which Manchester United was lacking since last season. He will face his old club Paris Saint-Germain in a UCL tie on 20th August which could be his first match in United Jersey as well.

DEADLINE DAY: Manchester United confirm Alex Telles signing with Cavani, Amad Traore and Pellistri expected but Dembele deal likely off

If you are a Manchester United, then things are probably looking a little rosier in terms of the boosts the current squad is receiving.

Alex Telles has been confirmed as a new signing by the club on a four-year deal. The Reds will pay an all-inclusive fee of 17 million euros to Porto. Having been tracked for nearly some time now, the move made sense for all parties involved.

Telles got the big professional move he wanted, United reinforced their strength in the left-back position and Porto got a reasonable fee for a player that was due to be a free agent in summer 2021.

However, it might not be the end of the transfer window for United. Per the latest news from Fabrizio Romano, veteran striker Edinson Cavani is also expected to sign a two-year deal at the club. Signing as a free agent, the only investment United would have to make is in terms of the wages and bonuses part of the Uruguayan’s contract.

Furthermore, he will be expected to provide stiff competition to current centre-forward starter Anthony Martial. And if the opportunity and form tail off, he can even become the main No 9 for Manchester United. After all, he has done it many times with Napoli and Paris Saint-Germain. And this could be sort of a one last hurrah in the professional circuit for Cavani.

The club also confirmed the signings of Amad Traore and Facaundo Pellistri. While the former has been signed for an inclusive fee of 40 million euros from Atalanta, he will only arrive at United in 2021 owing to passport issues. The latter is a young striker who comes from Penarol, who are expected to receive 20% of any future sale of the player. Safe to say, these are both talents who are for the future than the present.

The last bit of business that Man United could have potentially done, was the signing of winger Ousmane Dembele from FC Barcelona. But this will now NOT be done, because of the difference in expectations from both clubs.

United wanted Dembele on a loan with possibly an option to buy. Barcelona on the other hand preferred selling the Frenchman on a much more permanent basis. It can be understood why the Catalan club wanted money upfront, having announced quite the enormous debt from past financial operations.

It is thus now looking like the end of the transfer window for United fans. And they will certainly feel happy at the closure mark, with significant deals tied up for some important players.

  • Edinson Cavani is now a Manchester United player

Edinson Cavani is now a Manchester United player

According to multiple reports in Europe Manchester United is finally going to sign one of their targets within the next few hours. Manchester United was linked with Edinson Cavani for a long time.

Edinson Cavani is a free agent this season.

Earlier Cavani wanted a three-year contract worth €10million-a-season (£8.8m). But Benfica was not ready to sign the striker at a high wage. After that, some of the other European clubs become interested in the Uruguayan forward.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Edinson Cavani wants a ‘long term deal + more than €10m/season as wages + huge agents fee’. But United was not interested to sign him if he doesn’t want to negotiate with wages and agent fees. As per final reports, Edinson Cavani is flying to England today to complete his medicals and the deal. He has agreed to take less than €10m/season.

Edinson Cavani will be a good addition to the Manchester United squad. He is a proper centre-forward which Manchester United was lacking since last season. If the deal happens then he will face his old club Paris Saint-Germain in a Champions League group stage tie on 20th October which could be his first match in United Jersey as well.

  • Manchester United willing to sign free agent Cavani

Manchester United willing to sign free agent Cavani

Despite being unable to bring Jadon Sancho to Old Trafford this summer, Manchester United have not given up their pursuit of a star attacker.

Edinson Cavani seems to be the name rumoured to join the Red Devils, and it makes sense considering Anthony Martial needs some quality backup and Odion Ighalo has experienced a dip in quality as of recently.

Furthermore, Ighalo’s loan spell expires in winter, following which, Manchester United will be left with only Martial as the fit striker.

Though Rashford has been deployed up front as well, the Englishman is doing much better on the wings and lacks a striker’s instinct. Moving him out to the left has been one of the unexpected moves by Ole that turned out well for the team.

Cavani has had a lifetime of experience competing at the top level, with spells at Napoli and PSG, winning multiple pieces of silverware with both clubs.

The Uruguayan has scored over 200 goals for PSG and is arguably the best striker in the French Champions’ history.

His Champions League experience could be exactly what Manchester United need, especially with the fact that they will be competing in the top tier of European football this season.

Quality options are necessary if Ole’s side is to progress deep into the tournament. Given the hefty investment in players this season, the Board will be expecting Ole to at least make it to the quarters.

On the other hand, Manchester United are one of the few clubs in Europe that can afford the sky-high wages that the former PSG man demands.

According to recent reports, an offer of about £200,000 a week has been drafted for the striker. Considering the fact that Manchester United will not have to pay anything for Cavani, it could pay off as a wise investment in the long run.

  • Luis Suarez transfer saga has a new update after Barcelona president Bartomeu allegedly blocks move to Atletico Madrid

Luis Suarez transfer saga has a new update after Barcelona president Bartomeu allegedly blocks move to Atletico Madrid

The Luis Suarez transfer saga has taken yet another twist. A latest news report has suggested that after the option of terminating his contract was agreed, the Barcelona president Bartomeu has blocked the transfer.

Suarez already had a clause in his contract which restricted him from moving to top clubs around the world, but it is believed that Atletico Madrid was not on that list. But now that the board has seen that there is a way to recover some funds from Suarez’s 1-year duration remaining on his contract, they plan to use that to full effect.

This development comes after the very reliable Fabrizio Romano had reported that Suarez was keen on a move to Atletico Madrid and had even agreed on a two-year contract with them.

The blocking of the transfer changes things for both Suarez and Atletico. For the former, options are now drying out and he may have to contemplate staying at Barcelona without much game time.

For Atletico, they may switch their focus to signing veteran striker Edinson Cavani on a free transfer, given the striker profiles more or less match the same. They are forced to sign a new striker because Juventus have convinced Alvaro Morata to join them on an initial loan with an obligation to buy.

Even the earlier touted move of Suarez to Juventus now seems like a dead-end, considering the latest update is that he has failed his Italian language required for his passport acquirement.

Another rumour early in the market was to make a return to his old club Ajax for a minimal fee, but even that seems to have reached a dead end. A slight chance of a return to Liverpool is also out of the question, now that Diego Jota has signed for the Reds.

So as it stands, the Uruguayan striker’s future remains bleak and is still unclear on where he will be plying his trade this season.

  • Leeds United are keen on signing Edinson Cavani after his move to Benfica collapsed

Leeds United are keen on signing Edinson Cavani after his move to Benfica collapsed

Former PSG forward Edinson Cavani was highly linked with Portuguese side Benfica. But the transfer talks collapsed.

Edinson Cavani is a free agent now. He left Paris Saint-Germain this June after his contract expired. The Uruguayan striker was not happy at PSG as he became irregular in the starting line-up. PSG manager Thomas Tuchel favoured Argentine striker Mauro Icard, who is on loan from Inter.

Cavani wanted to sign a three-year contract worth €10million-a-season (£8.8m) with the Portuguese side. But Benfica is not ready to sign the striker for such a high wage. Benfica believed that the striker needs to lower his expectation.

Rui Costa, Benfica’s sporting director said: “Everyone knows that Benfica was interested in Cavani, we made a proposal for him, but that ball is no longer in our court. We ended our part in the negotiations because we can’t do more than we have already done.”

“This matter is completely closed on our side. I don’t want to give the impression of having reopened anything, because we are not going to reopen. It was not possible, so we will create other solutions. We cannot now think of things that are not possible.”

After the clear clarification from Benfica other European clubs are pushing to sign the 33-year-old striker. According to various reports Manchester United, Roma and Lazio are also interested to sign the striker.

Leeds United will be playing in Premier League next season after 16 long years. They need some pure quality in the squad to fight in Premier League. Edinson Cavani will surely increase the quality of the squad.

Leeds owner, Andrea Radrizzani told: “In addition to his quality, Cavani could contribute with his physicality and adapt here, but I’ve never talked about him with the coach. Having said that, we’ve certainly thought about him and we’ll see, given he’s still available on a free transfer.”

Edinson Cavani has scored 200 goals in 301 matches for PSG. He will definitely be a good addition to the newly-promoted Premier League side, Leeds United.
