How CISF Dominated the Competition

The tournament brought together State Police forces and Central Armed Police Forces including ITBP, SSB, and CISF, competing in a league-cum-knockout format across six days of intense Kho Kho action. With 33 teams across both categories, the standard of competition was high — making CISF’s clean sweep of both gold medals all the more impressive.

In the men’s final, CISF delivered a commanding performance to beat Maharashtra for the top podium spot, with Karnataka and Telangana sharing the bronze. The women’s campaign was equally dominant, with CISF overcoming Maharashtra in the final and Tamil Nadu and Punjab claiming the bronze positions.

A standout individual was Meenu, a Kho Kho World Cup representative competing for the CISF women’s team, whose performances across the tournament elevated the overall quality of the competition and played a key role in CISF’s gold medal run. For a sport that made its international debut at the Kho Kho World Cup, having world-level talent competing at the national police games signals just how fast the sport is growing.

The event was organised by Jammu & Kashmir Police under the supervision of Anand Jain, IPS, ADG Armed J&K, and inaugurated by former DGP Ashok Bhan. The larger tournament also featured Kabaddi, Fencing, and Gymnastics alongside the Kho Kho events.
