The ICC T20 World Cup is set to begin on October 16. A total of sixteen teams will be taking part in the gala event. The teams are India, South Africa, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, New Zealand, England, and Australia.

The fans are eagerly waiting for the Indian team to be in the finals. Last year, they had an epic fail, not even able to qualify for the semi-finals last year. This year the men in blue’s performance have been pretty good and fans expect them to take the Cup home in 2022.

However, there are cricketers of Indian origin who chose to play for other nations.

1. Ish Sodhi

The leg-spinner was born in Ludhiana, India. He plays international cricket for the New Zealand team and has played 81 T20I matches for New Zealand. He has taken a total of 103 wickets in the shortest format of the sport. He’s one of the most trusted bowlers of the team.

2. Chundangapoyil Rizwan, UAE

The skipper of the UAE team at the T20 World Cup 2022 is CP Rizwan who was born in Kerala. He also was a part of Kochi Tuskers Kerala’s trials before IPL 2011. He’s a middl-order batter who smashed 218 runs in 10 T20I innings.

3. Chirag Suri, UAE

This cricketer once was a part of the Gujarat Lions squad but he didn’t get an opportunity to play a game in 2017. He’s a right-handed top-order batter born in New Delhi. He is a player to look out for!

4. Simi Singh, Ireland

Ireland’s all-rounder batter Simi Singh has given memorable performances in white-ball cricket in the last few years. He has also picked 41 wickets and mustered 289 runs in his T20I career. He was born in Bathlana, Punjab, and desired to play for India however, he plays for Ireland.

5 Vikramjit Singh, Netherlands

Vikramjit Singh is one of the youngest players of the Netherlands squad who will be featured in the T20 World Cup 2022. He didn’t have a memorable performance since he scored only 19 runs in three matches. He is expected to score big runs in the mega event.

6. Karthik Meiyappan, UAE

This 21-year-old leg spinner was born in Chennai and represents the UAE team at the international level and is also a part of their T20 World Cup 2022 squad. He came into the limelight in IPL 2020 after RCB got him as a net bowler.

7. Vriitya Aravind, UAE

Vritya Aravind was born in Chennai and will be playing for UAE in T20 World Cup 2022. he’s the vice-captain and has very fine domestic tournaments. Everyone is looking forward to seeing how he plays in this tournament.
