Sweet Tooth Season 2 Plot, Trailer, Cast, and Release Date
Netflix has dropped the brand-new trailer for the popular fantasy drama series Sweet Tooth Season 2. The brand-new series is an adaptation of the dark comic books written and drawn by Jeff Lemire. Sweet Tooth mainly follows the DC comic book series by Jeff Lemire and is executive-produced by Jim Mickle, Susan Downey, Robert Downey, Jr., Amanda Burrell, and Linda Moran.
Sweet Tooth Season 2: Plot
In the new clip we have seen, General Abbot tells us, “We’re fighting extinction and we are losing,” as he continues building his army to war against the hybrid kids. But Jepperd and Aimee are hot on their trails, as Big Man vows to his new partner that they’ll get all of the children back unharmed. But the clock is ticking, and the longer the kids lie waiting in captivity, the greater the chance of them being picked off one by one for experimentation. Can Gus, a hybrid who’s “our only hope,” keep his friends alive and lead them to safety?
The second season has Arien asking a big question: will hybrid child Gus finally be reunited with his mother? Recently, the fantasy series has decided to continue the tale of Gus, the young human/deer hybrid boy as he and his friend Jeered travel across the post-apocalyptic world. This is mainly following an event popular as the mysterious event known as the Sick wiped out most of humanity.
In Season 2 we are going to see a deadly new wave of the Sick bear down, as Gus (Christian Convery) and a band of fellow hybrids are held prisoner by General Abbot (Neil Sandilands) and the Last Men. On looking to consolidate power by finding a cure, Abbot uses the children as fodder for the experiments of captive Dr. Aditya Singh (Adeel Akhtar), who’s racing to save his infected wife Rani (Aliza Vellani). To protect his friends, Gus agrees to help Dr. Singh, beginning a dark journey into his origins and his mother Birdie’s role in the events leading up to The Great Crumble.
The conclusion of the previous season witnessed Gus being taken into custody by the Last Men, a paramilitary organization dedicated to eliminating hybrid children in search of a cure to save humanity. A newly released teaser now provides us with insight into the consequences of Gus’ capture and offers a glimpse into what lies ahead in the story, featuring both familiar and new characters.
Along with Convery and Anozie, Season 2 of the show also stars Adeel Akhtar as Dr. Singh, Stefania LaVie Owen as Bear, Dania Ramirez as Aimee Eden, Aliza Vellani as Rani Singh, Naledi Murray as Wendy, Neil Sandilands as General Abbot, Marlon Williams as Johnny Abbot, Christopher Sean Cooper Jr. as Teddy, and Yonas Kibreab as Finn; with James Brolin as the voice of the narrator.
Netflix announced last week that Season 2 would be making its way to Netflix at the end of April. Jim Mickle returns as the series director, writer, and showrunner after serving in these positions for Sweet Tooth’s debut season. Mickle is also serving as an executive producer alongside Robert Downey Jr., Susan Downey, and Amanda Burrell via the Team Downey production banner, as well as Linda Moran. Team Downey’s Evan Moore is the co-executive producer of the series. Warner Bros. Television is in charge of producing Sweet Tooth.
