The biography launch of legendary singer Asha Bhosle was attended by luminaries, including Sonu Nigam, who paid a heartfelt tribute. On Friday, the highly anticipated biography of famed playback singer Asha Bhosle, titled ‘Swaraswamini Asha,’ was formally released.
The event brought a large number of luminaries, including RSS chairman Mohan Bhagwat, Mumbai BJP president Ashish Shelar, Pandit Hridaynath Mangeshkar, Sonu Nigam, Asha Bhosle’s granddaughter Janai Bhosle, and a number of other celebrities. Asha Bhosle attended the occasion with her granddaughter, Zanai Bhosle.
During the event, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat emphasised that the Mangeshkar family’s singing reflects both devotion and patriotism. He emphasised that singing should not only entertain but also have a constructive impact on society, and expressed long-standing affection for the Mangeshkar family prior to their meeting.
Sonu Nigam Cleans Asha Bhosle feet
During the programme, Sonu Nigam spoke warmly about Asha Bhosle before washing her feet in a show of respect and thanks at the publication of her biography. The video documenting this incident has subsequently gone popular on various social media sites. Actor Jackie Shroff attended Asha Bhosle’s autobiography launch and showed his respect by stroking her feet. He also gave her a plant, which symbolises environmental conservation.
Asha Bhosle’s biography includes contributions from 90 authors and provides a lovely experience for her followers. It includes rare images documenting the singer’s artistic development and evolution.
Asha Bhosle reminisced about her relationship with VD Savarkar, and she was joined by her brother, music director Hridaynath Mangeshkar. She also pondered on how many music directors influenced her vocals. It’s worth noting that Asha Bhosle’s elder sister, famed vocalist Lata Mangeshkar, died in February 2022 at age 92.
