“Only Half Is Out” — GV Prakash’s Big Tease

This is the kind of statement that makes fans lose sleep in the best possible way. Speaking with Cinema Vikatan, GV Prakash Kumar revealed that there are many surprises packed into Vishwanath and Sons, and that only half of the film has been revealed through the teaser so far.

He also shared that it was he who approached Suriya and suggested that he collaborate with director Venky Atluri, especially after the success of Lucky Baskhar. GVP noted that the film has tremendous scope for music and that it taps into a genre that Suriya’s female audience is going to love.

He added warmly that he remembers enjoying Ghajini as a schoolboy — that’s how he has always seen Suriya — and that the superstar carries the same magnetic charm even today. Coming from GVP, that’s a genuinely touching and high-praise observation.

What Is Vishwanath and Sons About?

The film centres on Sanjay Vishwanath, a disciplined 40-year-old international pistol shooter, whose life takes an unexpected turn when he becomes a mentor to a young woman with a wild and chaotic personality. She soon develops intense feelings for him, setting up a deeply unusual romance built on the unlikely foundation of their significant age gap. Needygirl-anime

It’s the kind of story that Kollywood rarely attempts — emotionally complex, refreshingly unconventional, and tailor-made for Suriya’s commanding screen presence.

What Else Is Suriya Working On?

Before Vishwanath and Sons arrives, Suriya will first appear in Karuppu — a fantasy action film directed by RJ Balaji, co-starring Trisha Krishnan — which is slated for a May 14, 2026 theatrical release. He is also working on Suriya47, directed by Jithu Madhavan.
