The new Microsoft device is making some noise in the tech world already with loads of leaks and spec information. Now we have some more info regarding the display of the Surface Go 2, Zac Bowden of Windows Central claims that Microsoft is giving the Surface Go a design refresh.
They claim that the Surface Go 2 will include a bigger 10.5-inch display, just 0.5-inch larger than the 3:2 panel that Microsoft had equipped in its predecessor. Also there will be an increase in the resolution, from 1,920 x 1,200 to 1,920 x 1,280.
The Surface Go 2 is said to retain the same chassis of the original Surface Go which implies that the Surface Go 2 will have thinner bezels than its predecessor. According to Bowden, these should be in resemblance to the Surface Laptop 3, which are noticeably thinner than the bezels of the Surface Pro 7.
This also suggests that the Surface Go 2 will be compatible with the existing Surface Go Type Cover and have the same selection of ports as the original Surface Go.
Previously, what the leaks imply that there will be two variants one powered by the Pentium Gold 4425Y processor while the other variant will be powered by the Intel Core m3-8100Y. Bowden claims Microsoft will include a cheaper 64 GB of eMMC flash storage and 4 GB of RAM with the Pentium Gold 4425Y powered variant to reduce costs.
This will obviously affect the performance of the Surface Go 2 base variant while the other variant with Intel Core m3-8100Y will be sporting 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB SSD which will give better results in everyday tasks. Apparently, Microsoft is expected to launch the Surface Go 2 alongside the Surface Book 3 this spring.
