Not every powerful CEO has it all figured out. Sometimes the ones who look the most unstoppable are quietly running on empty. That’s the story at the heart of “The Intern,” the Korean remake of the beloved Hollywood film, which has just unveiled the first look at Han So Hee in character. And it’s a role unlike anything she’s tackled before.
What The Film Is About
The story kicks off when Gi Ho, played by veteran actor Choi Min Sik, a senior intern with a staggering 37 years of work experience, joins the fast-growing company of Sun Woo — a CEO who built her fashion startup into an industry dark horse in just three years.
The Intern: Meet The Characters
| Character | Actor | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Sun Woo | Han So Hee | CEO of Wootutu, a rapidly rising fashion startup |
| Gi Ho | Choi Min Sik | Senior intern with 37 years of work experience |
Sun Woo is sharp, instinctive, and relentless — the kind of leader who never stops pushing forward. But that same drive eventually overwhelms both her career and personal life. Enter Gi Ho, whose calm, grounded personality is her complete opposite. As the two spend time together, they slowly begin to understand each other’s very different worlds.

A New Kind of Role For Han So Hee
Speaking about the project, Han So Hee shared that after a string of genre-heavy roles, she was excited to finally play someone grounded and relatable. Co-star Choi Min Sik described working with her as refreshing, calling her energy clear and cool on set, while director Kim Do Young credited her with bringing a distinct spark that shaped Sun Woo into an even more compelling character.
The Intern is set to hit Korean theaters on September 16, 2026.
