Some movies deserve a second shot — and Stop! That! Train! just got one. After a rocky theatrical run this summer, the campy, RuPaul-led comedy is heading to Netflix, hoping streaming will do what the box office couldn’t.

The film makes its Netflix streaming debut in the United States on September 20, 2026, just months after its June theatrical release.

Why It’s Worth a Watch

Despite a disappointing theatrical run — the $12.8 million production grossed just $4 million worldwide — critics largely praised the film’s full commitment to absurdity, drawing comparisons to classics like Airplane!. The story follows two recently fired transit stewardesses, Tess and DeeDee, who sneak aboard a luxury train to keep their glamorous lifestyle alive. Chaos ensues when a catastrophic storm forces feuding crews to team up with the train’s larger-than-life president to save the day.

Directed by Adam Shankman, best known for Hairspray and A Walk to Remember, the film leans hard into over-the-top comedy and spectacle.

Star-Studded Cast

If you’re a fan of RuPaul’s Drag Race, this cast reads like a dream team. RuPaul Charles headlines as President Gagwell, alongside drag stars Ginger Minj and Jujubee as the film’s leads. The supporting cast includes Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Michelle Visage, Joel McHale, and a long list of Drag Race alumni including Symone, Monét X Change, and Latrice Royale.

Stop! That! Train! joins a growing lineup of Bleecker Street titles heading to Netflix, following films like Relay and The Threesome. For more streaming premiere updates and movie release news, check out the entertainment coverage on TechnoSports.
