New Stills Prove “My Idol, My Debut” Nails the Rollercoaster of Chasing Fame

Every trainee’s dream comes with heartbreak attached, and MBC Plus’s upcoming drama “My Idol, My Debut” just proved it with a fresh batch of stills. The K-pop themed series follows a devoted fan who time-slips eight years into the past to stop a tragic accident — only to accidentally become an idol trainee herself while trying to change fate.

The newly released images capture two of the story’s most nerve-wracking moments: the monthly evaluation and the final debut lineup evaluation, which decide the fates of rookie groups IRION and BOY TO THE MOON.

What the Stills Reveal in My Idol, My Debut?

While IRION’s trainees are shown drenched in sweat from relentless choreography practice and buckling under pressure, BOY TO THE MOON — whose debut lineup has already been confirmed — radiates pure celebration, with Ethan and Han Jae Ha sharing an emotional shoulder embrace.

The production team noted that the images highlight the show’s careful world-building, capturing both the dreams and disappointments woven into a K-pop trainee’s journey. That tension between hope and heartbreak has long defined the idol survival genre, echoing the real-world K-pop trainee system that shapes many debuts in the industry today.

“My Idol, My Debut” premieres July 16 at 11:30 p.m. KST, and based on these stills, fans should be ready for both goosebumps and tears.
