Steam Survey: It reveals a glut of graphics cards | An all-time high for AMD | Decline in Windows 11 Users

According to the sources,  July was one of AMD’s most prosperous months, starting with the CPU division of the Steam vote.

The monthly software and hardware report from Valve offer us a solid idea of what the 120 million active monthly users of the platform are installing on their computers. In the processor market, AMD experienced one of its biggest gains in July, further reducing Intel’s market share and setting a new high.

Number of Users Decreased

Additionally, the number of Windows 11 users unexpectedly decreased, and it appears that more individuals are benefiting from lower graphics card pricing.

Beginning with the CPU category of the Steam poll, July was one of AMD’s most successful months in recent memory. Team red experienced a rare drop in users using its CPUs in June (down 1.28 percent), but it bounced back last month (+2.22 percent).

AMD now holds a record-breaking 33.73 percent of the market. It’s not the news Intel wanted to hear, especially after Chipzilla’s market cap dropped below that of its competitor as a result of Intel’s catastrophic quarterly report.

As we go on to the top-performing GPUs of the month, we discover a significant number of mid to high-end Ampere and RDNA 2 cards. It seems AMD’s cards are finally receiving more love as the Radeon RX 6800 XT and RX 6500 XT reach the main chart in seventh (+0.19 percent) and thirteenth (+0.15 percent), respectively. The RTX 3070 (+0.27 percent), RTX 3080 (+.024 percent), and RTX 3080 Ti (+0.14 percent) did particularly well.

New and High Tier AMD Graphics Cards

It is encouraging to see so many graphics cards, especially more recent, higher-end models, operating efficiently. Only five GPUs experienced gains greater than +0.10 percent in November of last year, the peak of the chip crisis.

More gamers are purchasing cards that were previously too expensive or just unavailable thanks to declining pricing and the sale of equipment by former cryptocurrency miners.

The previous month saw Windows 11 experience its first-ever decrease. Since Windows 10’s inclusion in the study, Microsoft’s newest operating system has been gaining market share. That trend changed in July as Windows 10 increased by 1.91 percent to win a 73.17 percent share while Windows 11 decreased by 0.11 percent.

The time has finally arrived when more than half of all Steam VR users own an Oculus Quest 2. A whopping 50.32 percent of participants favor the Meta headset, with the Valve Index HMD coming in second with a share of just over 15 percent.

It will be fascinating to see if the Oculus Quest 2, which is currently $100 more expensive, can maintain this rate. The survey’s section on languages is another fascinating piece. English and Simplified Chinese, the two most widely used languages, both experienced declines last month, while Russian experienced the most growth (+1.59%). One of the few western services
