Geo-stationary satellite broadband connection and the service have already been implemented in some of the major countries. We have already heard the news of Starlink’s satellite broadband service coming to India, but now we can confirm that the service is indeed coming to the country.

According to sources, the SpaceX-owned satellite broadband service will be launching in most of the regions of India. For now, we don’t have any confirmation about the exact roadmap and timing of the rollout in India. However, the news is but confirmed that Starlink satellite broadband services are coming to India.

Starlink has communicated with potential subscribers. the company is now accepting preorders for $99, to reserve one of the first installations for you in your region or location, when the service is activated for India.

For the price of $99, you get all the Starlink equipment that you’ll need to access the satellite broadband service.

“By placing your Deposit Payment, you have established priority within your region for purchasing the Starlink Kit when available.”

Subscribers can make the payment via credit cards and debit cards. The Starlink hardware kits are expected to be in limited supply, at least in the initial months, of the launch of the Starlink satellite broadband in India.

In India the broadband capacity is still limited, the country is still struggling with its 4G infrastructure. Though the internet potentiality of the country has certainly improved, the country is nowhere near the level of other big names in terms of broadband speed and coverage. A satellite internet system in India could help push connectivity to the regions where wired broadband remains unavailable, or at best offers inconsistent coverage due to distance or terrain.
