The game launched to strong review scores but a notoriously divided community response, and full-price re-entry on PS5 would have been a hard sell.

What PS5 players are likely getting is the better version. The PS5 version is expected to include the Shattered Space expansion, with the second DLC Starborn potentially releasing alongside the port in spring 2026. A rumoured 2.0 update is also in the works — reportedly bringing performance improvements to cities like New Atlantis and better FSR integration — though insiders caution it won’t be as transformative as Cyberpunk 2077’s 2.0 overhaul.

For PlayStation players who sat out the Xbox exclusivity window, this package — a technically improved RPG with expansion content for under €50 — represents a fair deal.
