The official launch of Star Wars Jedi Survivor was not without issues. Before the game’s release, users complained of severe performance problems that could not be fixed, which prompted EA to look into the problem. The Star Wars Jedi Survivor team officially announced today on Twitter that they are aware of the issues and that they are working on patches to enhance PC user performance.

Star Wars Jedi Survivor players have recently reported a variety of issues, including low frame rates, stuttering, and extremely high VRAM usage. Not only did users with midrange specs continue to experience these problems, but so did those with high-end gaming PCs equipped with the best graphics cards.

The GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 4090, two of the best gaming graphics cards, were unable to achieve 60 frames per second. The amount of VRAM used was also very high, averaging around 15 GB and occasionally going as high as 21 GB.

Changing in-game settings or hardware performance settings outside of Star Wars Jedi Survivor did not solve these issues.

EA has shared a formal response to the issue as a result of the ongoing complaints. The Star Wars Jedi Survivor team has acknowledged that they are aware of the serious performance problems affecting some PC users, noting that the impact seems to apply to those using high-end computers with more recent graphics cards. The announcement specifically mentions a case where users with more recent multi-threaded chips made for Windows 11 had trouble running the game with Windows 10 and powerful graphics cards coupled with slower processors.

The group is trying to come up with a solution that affects as many configurations as they can. Additionally, they clarify that “significant testing” will be needed for these patches to ensure that no new issues are created. It is not yet known when these patches will be made available or how long it will take for testing to conclude before they can be safely released. On the official EA Star Wars Twitter account, which is where future updates are likely to be shared, the official announcement is available to the public.
