Call of Duty Mobile Gets DMZ Mode: A Game-Changer Arrives Dec 11

Call of Duty Mobile is about to get its biggest update yet. Activision has officially announced DMZ Recon, an extraction-based shooter mode launching December 11, 2025, bringing the beloved DMZ experience from Modern Warfare II to your mobile device. Here’s everything you need to know about this exciting addition.

What is DMZ Recon Mode?

DMZ Recon is an extraction-based shooter mode that features Player vs Player vs Environment (PvPvE) gameplay. Unlike traditional multiplayer matches, the goal isn’t racking up kills—it’s about completing objectives, collecting loot, and successfully extracting from the battlefield with your rewards intact.

Key Features That Make DMZ Recon Special

The mode includes boss characters, weapons can be leveled up in-flight, and loot is based on a tier system with extremely rare collectibles. There’s also an in-match buy store, giving you strategic options during gameplay. AI enemies will defend key zones while you balance risk versus reward—lose a firefight and you lose everything you’ve collected.

Why This Matters for Call of Duty Mobile

This comes as welcome news for Warzone Mobile fans, as Activision stopped new content and support for that game earlier this year. DMZ Recon fills the void with a larger-scale mode featuring higher stakes and intense extraction gameplay that mobile players have been craving.

Gameplay Considerations

Touch controls might require some adjustment for the vertical movement and complex navigation DMZ Recon demands, though controller support is available. The strategic, slower-paced gameplay rewards planning over rushing, making each decision count as you decide what loot to keep and when to extract.
