It’s been quite a while since we heard about STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl. And now, after so many years, the day has finally come when we are talking about the sequel to the game.
To be precise, it will be 15 years after Call of Pripyat when players will finally get the long-awaited sequel to the series. Till now, we have all heard that STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl is equipped with extremely complex development.
In this article, we will be talking about all the details available about the game to this date. So, without any delays, let’s dive in.
STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl
We all know that GSC Game World first announced the game STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl in 2010. At that time, they gave a tentative launch window of 2012, but as we can clearly see, we are way past that.
This is all because of financial issues and other problems; however, the game development studio didn’t back off and continued its journey. After some time, they released the Cossacks 3 project as a test project, and it got a fairly positive response.
So, now they are finally releasing STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl on September 9, 2024, finally. The game will be launched for Xbox Series X/S and PC, and in fact, it will be Xbox console exclusive for around three months.
Moreover, at the time of launch, it will be available on the Game Pass subscription, and pre-orders are open on both platforms. In the pre-order bonuses, players will get the following benefits:
- ‘Early bird’ Weapon Skin
- ‘Early bird’ Costume Skin
- ‘Early bird’ Multiplayer Badge
- Extended Campfire Content: more guitar tunes and tales that you can hear in the game around the stalkers’ campfires.
- Steam Pack: animated avatar, animated avatar frame, and animated profile background.
The PC Standard Edition of STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl is priced at $59.99, the Deluxe Edition will be $79.99, and the Ultimate Edition is $109.99.
Talking about the genre and game setting, just like the former games in the series, in STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl, there is a fictional version of the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone. The game is about two nuclear events, one real and one fictional.
Because of these two events, the area within the zone has been changed and filled with violent mutants and mysterious anomalies. Now there are stalkers who are ready to risk their lives to find some precious artefacts in the zone to be smuggled.
The genre is the same: a first-person shooting game with survival elements and strong horror overtones. In the gameplay, players will get the opportunity in STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl to explore the radioactive world.
