The Spanish Super Cup is now played among 4 teams. The winners and runners-up of LaLiga and Copa Del Rey.

Real Madrid and Barcelona go into the tournament as the winners and runners-up of LaLiga respectively, while Athletic Club and Real Sociedad get entry as the Copa Del Rey finalists. (The Copa Del Rey final hasn’t been played yet due to the Coronavirus pandemic).

The draw for the Spanish Super Cup has been made:

Real Sociedad vs Barcelona13th January

Athletic Club vs Real Madrid14th January

The final will take place on 17th January at Seville’s La Cartuja.

So the Spanish Super Cup final could well see an El Clasico being played, one of the most exciting games in football considering their age-old rivalry.

Although the final could turn out to be a Basque derby or neither, football fans will hope to see an El Clasico in the final.
