Match results
Eagles’ captain, AB de Villiers put up a swashbuckling century stand with the equally attacking Aiden Markram. The partnership went a long way towards cementing the gold medal for Takealot Eagles.
AB de Villiers smashed 61 runs off 24 balls and Markram made 70 runs off 33 balls. The duo helped their side to put up a massive total of 160 runs for four across the two halves of six overs each.
Eagles finished 22 runs clear of the 138 for three posted by Mr D Food Kites. They won silver. While OUTsurance Kingfishers made 113 runs for five to take home the bronze.
It was an anxious return to play for everyone involved after more than 100 days of no cricket due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The ‘Solidarity Cup – 3TCricket’ has provided a near-perfect start to cricket after the pandemic.
