Maharashtra’s Commanding Victory

Maharashtra clinched a dominant innings-and-92-run victory over Punjab, earning crucial bonus points in Group A. Left-arm spinner Vicky Ostwal stole the show with career-best figures of 6/27, ripping through Punjab’s batting lineup after they were forced to follow on trailing by 199 runs.

Rajvardhan Hangargekar complemented Ostwal perfectly, claiming a fifer in the first innings and adding crucial wickets in the second. Punjab’s batting collapse—bowled out for just 107 in their follow-on innings inside 41 overs—highlighted Maharashtra’s bowling dominance.

Mumbai’s Relentless Pursuit of Innings Win

Mumbai, piling up a mammoth 630/5 declared, reduced Pondicherry to 132 all out and immediately imposed the follow-on. The visiting side’s 498-run lead puts them in prime position for an innings victory.

Pacers Tushar Deshpande and Shardul Thakur made early breakthroughs before spinners Tanush Kotian (3 wickets) and Shams Mulani (2 wickets) dismantled the lower order. In the follow-on innings, Pondicherry again struggled, losing early wickets to stand at 66/2 at tea.

Other Notable Performances

Shreyas Gopal’s Magic: The Karnataka leg-spinner claimed 7/73 against Chandigarh, with only Manan Vohra’s unbeaten 106 providing resistance. Karnataka’s 325-run first-innings lead prompted them to enforce the follow-on.

Railways’ Clinical Win: Left-arm spinner Raj Choudhary’s five-wicket haul helped Railways dismiss Tripura for 136 in their second innings, securing victory by an innings and 117 runs.

Yuvrajsinh Dodiya’s Six-Fer: The Saurashtra spinner grabbed six wickets to bowl out Goa for 358, giving his team a 227-run lead before enforcing the follow-on.

Kerala’s Recovery: After early setbacks against Madhya Pradesh, Sachin Baby and Baba Aparajith steadied Kerala’s second innings with crucial half-centuries, building a 245-run lead.

Exciting Matches Still in Balance

Several matches remain fascinatingly poised heading into Day 4. Hyderabad faces a daunting 472-run chase against J&K after Abid Mushtaq’s four-wicket burst. Vidarbha set Baroda a challenging 276-run target, with Darshan Nalkande already claiming four wickets to reduce them to 33/4.

The ongoing action across Indian domestic cricket continues to provide platforms for emerging talents while established stars cement their reputations in the country’s most prestigious red-ball competition.
