Just recently, Honor announced its 50 series of smartphones in China. The Honor 50 Pro + with Snapdragon 888 was not announced at this event, leading us to believe that such a device may not exist.
Honor has now confirmed that it will be launching its Magic 3 series in Q3, it is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 888. The emergence of additional information has revealed that the company could also be launching a device powered by the Snapdragon 888 mobile platform.
Based on a tweet by reliable tipster Teme, Honor may have struck a deal with Qualcomm for its SM8350 Pro chip, which is expected to be released as the Snapdragon 888 Pro. The tweet claims that this chip would be rare as Honor is the only one who has bought it so far.
The Magic 3 will supposedly have a unique design along with the Snapdragon 888 Pro chip, and it may offer a top-of-the-line photography experience. Apart from that, not much is known about this device.
At the launch event of the Honor 50 series, CEO Zhao Ming confirmed that the brand will continue to launch the Magic, numbered, X, and Play series of smartphones.
The Magic line will feature flagship models, whereas the numbered series will have mid-range phones whereas the X and Play series will have budget-friendly devices.
Ming also revealed that the Magic 3 lineup with Snapdragon 888 will debut in Q3 this year. It is still unconfirmed whether the chip will debut as Snapdragon 888+ or 888 Pro. It is believed to arrive as an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 888 chip with the new 3.0GHz X1 super core processor.
