Skoda Auto India will hike the prices of its vehicles by up to 3 percent from January 1, 2025. The rise in the price will impact the ex-showroom prices of multiple models, including the Kushaq, Slavia, Superb, and Kodiaq. However, the Kylaq will not be impacted until it hits 33,333 bookings, a move that is part of Skoda’s launch pricing strategy.

Designed as a sub-4-metre SUV, the Kylaq is a crucial pillar in Skoda’s expansion strategy in India, featuring a modern look and cutting-edge safety technology to allow for a wide range of buyers. Other than that, the Kylaq is a very important model, as Skoda aims to sell around 1 lakh units of the Kylaq by 2026, which makes it crucial for the automaker’s long-term strategy in India.

Skoda India to Increase Prices by 3% in 2025, Kylaq Excluded Until 33,333 Bookings

The increase in prices is attributed to escalating input and operational costs, which have already affected manufacturing expenses across the automotive industry. These have included rises in raw materials, logistics, and manufacturing processes, leading manufacturers like Skoda to raise prices where possible to protect their bottom line. In the last two years, Skoda Auto India has introduced 100,000 cars and added more than 260 customer touchpoints in over 150 cities to improve accessibility and engagement with customers, both in urban and rural areas.

The Kylaq marks itself in an extremely competitive sub-4-metre SUV segment, that is already packed with an impressive vehicle list, with state-of-the-art safety systems and a modern design, capitalizing on the existing demand for compact vehicles with excellent safety standards. Skoda’s move to freeze Kylaq’s pricing, until it hits 33,333 bookings, helps it hold a competitive position at least while sustaining market momentum. Optimizing its pricing mechanics is essential for Skoda in its quest to crack the competitive, price-friendly Indian automotive sector.

Skoda, as a brand, is continuously working on improving safety within the cars, and bringing in, advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) offers and similar features are part of its target, and therefore are part of the entire model range. The price hike for 2025 comes in line with the wilder automotive industry troubles over increasing costs and supply chain disruptions. These price hikes are necessary to ensure the company’s long-term viability and continued competitiveness.
