Introducing an All-Women Cop Universe

Rohit Shetty has now announced an exciting new chapter for his franchise “An all-women Cop Universe.” This bold new direction will focus on female characters, marking a significant shift from the previous films which featured male protagonists as the central police officers. Shetty’s decision reflects a broader trend in the film industry towards more diverse and inclusive storytelling.

The first glimpse into this all-women Cop Universe comes with the casting of Deepika Padukone as Lady Singham in Singham Again. This film will see Padukone stepping into the role of a no-nonsense police officer, a role traditionally played by male actors in the Cop Universe. Shetty’s choice of Padukone, one of Bollywood’s most prominent actresses, suggests a strong and compelling character that will be central to the new franchise.

Earlier this year, Shetty introduced Padukone’s character with a heartfelt message on social media: “MY HERO… REEL MEIN BHI AUR REAL MEIN BHI. LADY SINGHAM!!!” This announcement has generated considerable buzz, highlighting Shetty’s commitment to creating powerful female leads within his cinematic world.

Singham Again Wraps Up

Earlier this week, Rohit Shetty celebrated the completion of Singham Again with a series of behind-the-scenes photos and videos. This film marks the 13th collaboration between Shetty and actor Ajay Devgn, a partnership that began in the 1990s and has remained strong ever since. In his social media post, Shetty reflected on their enduring relationship, noting, “Today we complete 13 years of ‘Singham’ and look at the magic of destiny. Today we also wrap ‘Singham Again’ with Ajay sir. This is my 13th film with him as a director but the journey began back in the 90s when I was working under him. 33 years later we are still going strong.”

Ajay Devgn’s Role in the Franchise

Ajay Devgn has been a central figure in most of the films directed by Rohit Shetty, particularly within the Golmaal and Singham series. His presence in these movies has become synonymous with the franchise’s success. In Singham Again, Devgn continues his role as the iconic police officer, adding to the film’s high-profile appeal.
