🎬 What Happens in the Trailer?
The trailer opens with Banks’ character Lindy Littlejohn, a bestselling author, speaking warmly about the give-and-take in her marriage. Then things go sideways — fast. Her husband Les (Macfadyen), a scientist who has developed what he calls “the miracle of miniaturization” (a biotech meant for crops), accidentally sprays it on Lindy, shrinking her down to just six inches tall.
The clip closes with Lindy staring up and asking, “How long until you can fix me?” — setting the tone perfectly: big relationship drama, tiny physical stakes.

💡 Why This Show Could Be a Big Deal
On the surface, the shrinking gimmick recalls classic films like Honey, I Shrunk the Kids — but this show is aiming deeper. According to the Wikipedia page for The Miniature Wife, the series examines the “power imbalances between spouses” — the miniaturization is a literal metaphor for how one partner can be diminished in a relationship. With both Banks and Macfadyen also serving as executive producers, they clearly believe in this story enough to put skin in the game.
Pair that with director Greg Mottola — the mind behind Superbad — and showrunners who worked on Boardwalk Empire and Killing Eve, and the creative pedigree is genuinely impressive.
