SHARP Launches India’s First Window AC With Active Air Purification

SHARP Business Systems (India) has launched a new range of window air conditioners in India, headlined by the country’s first window AC with active air purification powered by its patented Plasmacluster technology. The new lineup comprises the Ryohu (inverter) and Ryohu-FS (fixed-speed) series, available across multiple capacities, star ratings, and price points — all backed by a 5-year comprehensive warranty as an introductory offer.

Ryohu vs Ryohu-FS: Key Differences

What Makes These Window ACs Different

The headline innovation is Plasmacluster — SHARP’s patented technology that releases positive and negative ions into the air to reduce bacteria, allergens, viruses, and odours while the AC cools. No other window AC in India offers this as an active, built-in feature.

Both series are built to handle India’s brutal summers, supporting cooling at ambient temperatures up to 52°C. The Ryohu inverter models add a twin rotary compressor, turbo mode, and a 4-in-1 convertible cooling mode for energy optimisation. The Ryohu-FS series focuses on heavy-duty dependability with 100% copper condensers, anti-corrosion blue fin coating, eco-friendly R32 refrigerant, and SHARP’s Japan 7 Shield durability framework.

Mimoh Jain, Chief Business Officer of SHARP Appliances India, described the launch as part of the brand’s vision to redefine home comfort by combining advanced cooling with intelligent, health-focused innovation — a meaningful pivot for a category that has largely stayed static for years.
