Seyon Teaser Out: Sivakarthikeyan Turns God’s Warrior on His 41st Birthday

Birthdays in Tamil cinema are never just birthdays — they’re announcements, teasers, and mass promises rolled into one. On February 17, 2026, Sivakarthikeyan marked his 41st birthday by dropping the teaser of his next big-screen adventure — Seyon — and it hits completely differently.

Seyon Teaser: Overview

What Happens in the Seyon Teaser?

It opens simply — inside a police station, a few people arguing about a festival brawl. Then he walks in.

What follows is pure controlled chaos. When a group attacks Sivakarthikeyan’s character, he doesn’t flinch — he fights back with raw, earth-shaking energy, “leaving no one untouched.” But here’s what makes Seyon stand apart from a typical rural action film: the lead character is portrayed as a devotee and conduit of the Hindu god Murugan, with the teaser also weaving in the significance of the folklore deity Virumaandi — the same rustic legend Kamal Haasan immortalised years ago.

That connection to Virumaandi folklore isn’t subtle. It’s layered, it’s intentional, and it adds mythological weight to every frame.

Sivakarthikeyan himself wrote about the teaser release: “For those who admire me, for those who love me, for those who think about me more than I think about myself, for my fans, for my brothers and sisters.” That’s the kind of birthday message that hits fans right in the chest.

The Team Behind Seyon

This is director Sivakumar Murugesan’s second film — his debut, Thaai Kizhavi, is set to hit theatres on February 20, 2026, which Sivakarthikeyan himself co-produced. Having Kamal Haasan’s RKFI back this project sends a strong signal about confidence in both the director and the material.

Santhosh Narayanan on music means expect something that’ll make the rural atmosphere breathe — he’s the man behind some of the most memorable soundscapes in recent Tamil cinema.

SK’s Big Year

Fresh off Parasakthi — currently streaming on ZEE5 — Sivakarthikeyan is showing zero signs of slowing down. Seyon is next, and a collaboration with director Venkat Prabhu is already in the pipeline too.
