Tamil cinema fans didn’t miss a beat. The moment Sivakarthikeyan’s Seyon first look dropped — stick in hand, blazing torch raised, rooted in raw rural energy — social media collectively gasped: “This feels like Virumaandi.” And honestly? That gut reaction isn’t wrong.

What Is Seyon and Why Is Everyone Talking About It?

Released on Sivakarthikeyan’s birthday, the 3-minute-31-second Seyon first look teaser introduces the actor in a deeply rustic, larger-than-life avatar tied to the Maasi Kalari festival at the Karumathur Virumaandi temple. The character arrives not as a threat, but as a divine presence — the crowd celebrates his entry like a god walking among mortals.

It’s mythological, it’s visceral, and it’s unmistakably cinematic. Sivakarthikeyan himself wrote in his caption: “For those who love me, for those who think more of me than I do — the destruction of the devil awaits.”
