Sergio Busquets Inter Miami official: Reunion with Lionel Messi confirmed – deal until 2025

Sergio Busquets Inter Miami: After leaving Barcelona, a reunion with Lionel Messi is on the cards for Sergio Busquets. The midfielder has agreed to join Inter Miami as a free agent, and his arrival has been made official by the club on their social media pages.

The length of the contract is expected to be around two years until 2025, as it hasn’t been confirmed as of yet.

During his time with Barcelona, Busquets cemented himself as one of the best defensive midfielders in the world. He has won every trophy available multiple times, and is now pursuing a new challenge away from the spotlight of European football.

Graduating from Barcelona’s La Masia academy, the expectation was that he would hang up his boots at the club only. But like Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta, the one-club-man tag is not meant to be for the 34-year-old, who will not retire in spite of leaving Barcelona.

There was interest from Saudi Arabia over a transfer for the veteran midfielder as well. But, David Beckham’s Inter Miami are ahead in the negotiations to sign him with a move to the United States seemingly preferred.

Sergio Busquets Inter Miami transfer: Jordi Alba to follow?

The MLS club is also in talks with Jordi Alba for the left-back to join this summer. Alongside Sergio Busquets, he is also without a club after leaving Barcelona. And it now seems that Alba will be leaving European football as well, if he accepts to join Inter Miami.

However, negotiations are not as advanced with Jordi Alba as of yet and it will take time for the pair to come to an agreement.

But the chances of all three Barcelona icons ending up at the same club in the same transfer window now seems very high after Busquets and Messi both moving to Florida.
