Sennheiser has launched the HD 500 BAM boom arm microphone in India at ₹4,990, transforming select audiophile headphones into complete gaming and communication solutions. Available from January 13, 2026, this first-party accessory addresses a long-standing gap for HD 500 series users who previously relied on third-party microphones for voice communication during gaming, calls, and content creation.

Audiophile Sound Meets Gaming Functionality

The HD 500 BAM features a 10mm electret condenser microphone with cardioid directional pickup, engineered to capture clear voice while minimizing background noise. Unlike standalone gaming headsets that compromise audio quality, this boom mic preserves the expansive soundstage and precise imaging that HD 500 series headphones are renowned for among gamers and professionals.

Saahil Kumar, General Manager of Sonova Consumer Hearing India, emphasized the elegant solution the HD 500 BAM provides: users no longer need to compromise between audiophile sound quality and voice communication capabilities. The secure twist-and-lock mechanism installs in seconds, while the 1.5-meter cable with in-line remote provides convenient volume and mute controls.

Three user-replaceable foam windscreens ensure long-term reliability and hygiene—one comes pre-installed with two spares included. The package also contains a Y adapter for systems with separate audio and microphone inputs, ensuring universal compatibility across PCs, Macs, gaming consoles, laptops, and mobile devices.

Competitive Gaming Without Dedicated Headsets

HD 500 series headphones are preferred by competitive gamers requiring accurate positional audio for tactical advantages. The HD 500 BAM complements these strengths with lag-free voice transmission, creating a complete headset experience rivaling dedicated gaming peripherals while maintaining true audiophile sound reproduction.

The boom mic is available through Sennheiser Hearing, Amazon India, and select retail partners. Special bundled pricing is offered when purchased alongside compatible headphone models, making it an attractive upgrade for existing HD 500 series owners.

For audio enthusiasts at TechnoSports who’ve invested in quality headphones, the HD 500 BAM eliminates the need for separate gaming headsets while preserving the audio fidelity that attracted them to Sennheiser initially.
