Sennheiser Integration Across Broadcast and On-Site Experiences
The partnership will see Sennheiser’s audio solutions deeply embedded within Formula E’s broadcast and trackside operations. A key component of this integration is the AMBEO immersive audio ecosystem, designed for the capture, processing, and reproduction of three-dimensional sound. This is intended to create more immersive listening experiences for audiences watching the races.
Dan Cherowbrier, CTO of Formula E, stated, “Innovation and technology are central to Formula E, and Sennheiser represents a suitable partner to help refine the audio landscape of our championship. Their professional audio technologies and workflows, particularly the AMBEO immersive ecosystem, offer a dynamic setting to explore the future of sound in racing.” Cherowbrier added that the collaboration aims to connect real-world audio innovation with practical application for fan engagement.

Andreas Sennheiser, CEO of the Sennheiser Group, commented on the partnership, noting, “Formula E provides an environment where meaningful innovation can occur. We are motivated by the ambition to integrate advanced audio technologies into real-world applications, and this collaboration offers an opportunity to reconsider the role sound plays in electric racing.” He further mentioned the potential to define the sport’s acoustic character through dynamic in-car and trackside soundscapes.
Beyond broadcast enhancements, the partnership extends to Formula E’s on-site fan zones and VIP hospitality areas. The objective is to elevate the audio quality and immersive elements within these physical event spaces. Kai Detlefsen, Manager for AMBEO at Sennheiser, explained that AMBEO solutions will enable viewers to feel more connected to the racing environment and teams.
The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, as the first all-electric FIA World Championship, has consistently focused on sport-tech innovation.
