‘Selena: The Series(Part 2)’: All We Know So Far

Last December, Selena: The Series was launched on Netflix, but the on-screen journey of Selena Quintanilla is very far from ended. The streaming platform reveals that more than 25 million households have watched the first installment of this famous series at the time of its release. There is good news for the viewers that the latest installment is already confirmed to launch this year.

The first nine episodes depict the rise of the superstar to fame, beginning with her performance of early days with the family band, Selena y Los Dinos. At the end of the season, the series introduced Yolanda Saldivar, who has killed the singer in 1995.

It also opened up about the firing of Chris Perez, the guitarist and eventually husband of Selena, after their secret romance found out by her father.  The fans are expected that there are a lot of things about her life after this point.

Selena’s journey as a Solo Artist

The second part will contain plenty of drama. The new trailer unveiled that the star Christian Serratos draws the Tejano musician at the top of her fame and performs memorable moments in the life of the singer, included with her 1995 Houston Astrodome performance, her marriage with Chris Perez, and also a blink-and-you-miss-it cameo from the younger Beyonce and Tina Knowles. 

This second and final chapter will reveal the brink of stardom with her continuous rising through the Tejano music world. In the last part, we will watch how she handles her newfound success and how she will maintain the balance between her family, love, and burgeoning career. This series will show the sacrifice of the Quintanilla family; they are navigating together as she set off a very successful female Latin singer of all time. Christian Serratos is playing the role of Selena.

Selena as more independent and empowered

Where the first half depicts the story of Quintanilla and also the struggle of her family to stand in the music business, there the second half will reveal her as she is gaining a lot of independence. Also, she is empowered to be a star.

Selena as an Icon

The first half of the series was nerve cracking as there was not more footage of teen Selena for her base performance. After that, she added that it had been more relaxed at that exact time because she got her freedom, but the people don’t know that side of Selena too much. Serratos said that in the second part a lot more about the icon. In The LA Times, the actress said that her makeup helps her to feel more like Selena.

Ending of the Story

Natasha Perez said that she had been emphasized that after knowing the tragedy of the singer’s journey, the show will reveal her life with great care. Unfortunately, Yolanda became a part of the tragic story of Selena. But the most tragic and beautiful fact is her legacy continues through her art, music, and entire life.
