As part of the popular game’s first film cooperation, Ghostface from the Scream film series will appear in Among Us. Actors Jack Quaid and Mason Gooding, as well as streamers Tina Kitten, 5Upps, Noah J, Kara Corvus, and Chilled Chaos, announced during a Livestream.
All gamers will receive the Ghostface content, which includes a hat and a skin, for free “soon.” Re-watch the “Scream Plays Among Us” video below to witness Quaid, Gooding, and the streamers play the game and talk about the movie and this collaboration.
While Ghostface/Scream is the first movie partnership for Among Us, the popular indie game has previously hosted celebrities. Politicians Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Jimmy Fallon both sang Among Us and highlighted their respective ideas.
In a press release, developer Innersloth stated that this is the “first” cinematic collaboration with Among Us, implying that there would be more in the future. It makes it logical to start with Scream, because the film, like the game, is all about figuring out who the killer is.
Scream is the first new chapter in the series since 2011’s Scream 4, and it hits theatres today, January 14. In what GameSpot called an “interesting new perspective on the Scream story,” series stars Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette return in what GameSpot called an “engaging new spin on the Scream story.”
The new Scream is set to dethrone Spider-Man: No Way Home at the box office this weekend and take home the top spot. Campbell recently talked of being attacked by a bear on a movie set when she was 17 years old.
