Revealing the Intriguing Layers of “Savi”: A Housewife’s Journey to Justice

How far will a simple housewife go to save her husband? That’s the question at the heart of Abhinay Deo’s “Savi,” a thriller mystery focusing on a wife’s quest to free her husband from jail. What will Savi do to seek justice and fulfill her promise to her young son? If the trailer is any indication, there are no limits. The trailer promises high-octane drama and suspense, and here’s our take on it.

From the motion poster release, fans have been eager to uncover the story behind a simple housewife getting blood on her hands. The first video teaser of “Savi” further fueled curiosity with a big confession. The grim teaser hooks viewers with the question of who committed the crime. While Abhinay Deo’s craftsmanship is evident, there’s still much to be revealed. We catch glimpses of Harshvardhan Rane and Anil Kapoor, both of whom have excelled in the thriller genre, while this is new territory for Divya Khossla.

The newly released “Savi” trailer delves deeper into the mystery. The 1-minute, 52-second clip builds suspense, emphasizing that Savi is just a housewife. How could she kill anyone? But to get her husband out of jail, she does what it takes.

As the trailer unfolds, we see a happy couple’s life shattered by a murder accusation. Desperate for help and determined to fulfill her promise to her son, Savi takes on the challenge of breaking into a high-security prison. What follows is a montage of intense and mixed-quality action scenes. Then enters Anil Kapoor, adopting various looks, including a Peaky Blinders-esque style, and becoming Savi’s accomplice. His performance shines in the snippets we see.

The stakes rise as Savi fights back. The trailer, cut in classic Mukesh Bhatt fashion, continuously introduces new twists just when you think you’ve figured it out. The “Savi” trailer has its highs and lows but keeps viewers hooked with the anticipation of seeing Anil Kapoor in a new role and Divya Khossla’s portrayal of a mother’s love. Will this be enough to make the movie soar? We’ll have to wait and see.

When And Where Can You Watch Savi on OTT?

“Savi” will be released in theatres on May 31. After nearly two months, it will be available on OTT platforms, likely by August. Netflix holds the OTT rights to the movie, so “Savi” will stream on Netflix following its theatrical run. The exact date for the OTT release has not been finalized and will be announced after the movie’s theatrical release at the end of this month.

Divya Khosla Kumar Talks About Her Latest Anticipated Release

The revelation of the upcoming Mukesh Bhatt-Bhushan Kumar-Krishan Kumar collaboration for the production of ‘Savi-A Bloody Housewife’ caught everyone by surprise.

In her debut commentary about the project, exclusively shared with Zoom, Divya Khossla, portraying the titular character crafted by the author, opened up about her involvement.

“We kept it out of the news for as long as we could. All of us were sworn into secrecy until it was ready for release. In fact we got the title just a few days back. We shot the film in complete secrecy in London.”

So What is ‘Savi – A Bloody Housewife’ All About?

Reveals Divya, “I don’t want to give away too much of the plot. But I can assure you that I have not
done anything like this. Savi is based on the Hindu mythological concept of Sati Savitri, who is said to
have brought her husband back from the dead. We have contemporized the myth, made it acceptable to
today’s audience without tampering with the story.”

Divya further added that the film celebrates the housewife, “Men, and even women, tend to take the homemaker for granted, if not look down on her completely. Our film shows how the housewife anchors the family. Were it not for her, the family would fall apart.” Anil Kapoor features in a very special role. “He has never been seen like this. Anilji is such a legendary actor. To have him in our film is a blessing.”

“Harshvardhan Rane plays my husband. Our director is the very talented Abhinay Deo who has earlier helmed very interesting films like the Irrfan Khan starrer Blackmail,” said Divya.

She admits she is nervous, “People are not coming to the movie theatres. But we are confident they will come for Savi when it opens on May 31. The content is the hero here. If you liked my previous release Yaariyan, you will love Savi.”

She was last seen in Yaariyan, which is now streaming on Jio Cinema.

“But it comes with a price. People have to pay to see Yaariyaan on the streaming platform. They first
waited to see it on OTT. Now they will wait to see it when it is free of cost,” Divya concluded.
