Samsung’s Galaxy S24: Leading the AI Revolution with Mobile Devices

Samsung Electronics is at the forefront of the AI revolution, with mobile devices becoming the primary access point for AI technology. Dr. TM Roh, President & Head of MX Business at Samsung Electronics, shared this perspective following the global unveiling of the Galaxy S24 series – Samsung’s first AI smartphone.

Galaxy S24: A Milestone in AI Technology

Developing the Galaxy S24 series has marked one of the most rewarding periods in Dr. Roh’s career. As an engineer, he acknowledges that AI is the most transformative technology of the century, with massive potential that could bring about significant changes not only for Samsung and the mobile industry but also for all humankind.

Samsung has received tremendous feedback on the practical application of Galaxy AI features in everyday life. One of the most popular features is ‘Circle to Search with Google,’ an intuitive tool for discovery. Communication tools such as Live Translate, Chat Assist, and Interpreter that eliminate language barriers have also captured users’ imaginations. Moreover, Photo Assist, a creativity tool powered by ProVisual Engine, has been well-received.

Expanding the Galaxy AI Experience

Galaxy AI is transforming the way people communicate and complete everyday tasks. Samsung is committed to continuously enhancing and expanding the mobile AI experience with more Galaxy AI features for its users.

Shortly, select Galaxy wearables will use AI to enhance digital health and unlock a new era of intelligent health experiences. Samsung plans to enrich and expand Galaxy AI experiences across categories through collaborations with more industry-leading AI partners.

Addressing AI Challenges and Responsibilities

While AI brings about numerous advantages, Samsung recognizes the challenges and responsibilities that come with it, including issues with AI models being susceptible to hallucinations and ongoing debates over intellectual property rights.

Dr. Roh emphasized the importance of raising security and privacy standards in this data-intensive era of mobile experiences. Samsung has adopted a hybrid approach, combining on-device and cloud-based AI to ensure seamless usability while allowing users to limit some features to function entirely on-device, providing them with greater control over their data. Samsung remains committed to enhancing Galaxy device security and privacy by providing users with transparency and choice.

The Galaxy S24 series has been met with strong demand in India, securing 250,000 pre-bookings in just three days.
