Samsung Odyssey OLED Gaming Monitor Lineup Gets a Boost: Unveils New Models at CES 2024

Samsung Electronics has revealed its latest Odyssey OLED gaming monitors at CES® 2024, the renowned tech event hosted by the Consumer Technology Association® (CTA) in Las Vegas. The newly introduced OLED models, including the Odyssey OLED G9 (G95SD model), OLED G8 (G80SD model), and OLED G6 (G60SD model), aim to meet gamers’ demands for enhanced performance and visual clarity.

The All New Updated Samsung Odyssey OLED Gaming Monitor Lineup

The Odyssey OLED G9 boasts a 49” curved ultra-wide display with DQHD (5,120 x 1,440) resolution, a 32:9 aspect ratio, and advanced features. The Odyssey OLED G8 stands out as the first flat 32” Samsung OLED gaming monitor, offering 4K UHD (3,840 x 2,160) resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio. Both models feature a 240Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms GTG response time. The Odyssey OLED G6 is a 27” QHD (2,560 x 1,440) monitor with a 16:9 aspect ratio, 360Hz refresh rate, and 0.03ms GTG response time.

Hoon Chung, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, emphasized the need for innovation to meet evolving gaming needs, stating that the new OLED Odyssey gaming monitors will provide gamers with immersive environments.

The monitors incorporate OLED Glare-Free technology to minimize light reflections, ensuring consistent brightness and color in various lighting conditions. With VESA DisplayHDR™ True Black 400, these monitors deliver exceptional details and vivid colors, supporting AMD FreeSync™ Premium Pro for low-latency HDR gaming.

Physical connectivity is comprehensive, including two HDMI 2.1 ports, a USB hub, and a DisplayPort 1.4 input. The monitors offer VESA mount compatibility and a height-adjustable stand with tilt, swivel, and pivot control points for added comfort and convenience.

The Odyssey OLED G9 and OLED G8 introduce Multi Control, enhancing device connectivity for a seamless multi-device experience. Users can transfer images and text between their Samsung monitor and other Samsung devices effortlessly. The monitors also feature the Samsung SmartThings Hub for connecting to compatible IoT devices.

In a shift, Samsung has introduced flat OLED options to the Odyssey lineup, along with a 16:9 aspect ratio to the Odyssey OLED G8 and Odyssey OLED G6. The models feature a slim metal design and Core Lighting+ for ambient lighting from the back of the monitor. A new slim metal stand with tool-free assembly adds to the aesthetic appeal.

With these advancements, Samsung strengthens its OLED lineup, solidifying its leadership in the gaming monitor market alongside the Odyssey Neo series. The innovations aim to define the future of gaming by delivering cutting-edge features and performance.
