Earlier this year, Samsung introduced Log mode for video recording with the launch of the Galaxy S25 series. The feature was later extended to the Galaxy S24 series through the One UI 7 update. Now, Samsung is intent on expanding this feature even more, making the soon-to-be-announced Galaxy S25 compatible with the upcoming G5 version.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Series to Get Front Camera Log Mode with June Update After S25 Edge Launch
The existing Galaxy S25 models have Log mode only for rear camera video recording, and the Galaxy S25 edge is expected to be equipped with the function even for the front camera. IposDev also mentioned that front camera Log mode will also be extended to the entire Galaxy S25 series, launched in India with a price tag of ₹80,999.
There are also some screenshots on X (previously Twitter) showing how the feature works on the self-camera. Once the Galaxy S25 Edge is officially released, the front camera Log mode will be available in some future S25 models.
The broader release is expected to come with the June software update, but we don’t yet know whether this feature will be extended to older Galaxy devices. Log mode is a feature that helps users capture videos in a wider dynamic range and with a clearly separated grey color tone, which can make color grading and correction in post-production much easier.
This high-compression, minimal-contrast video format, according to Samsung, is meant for people who want to do custom edits in post — either manually or by using auto tools in the Gallery app.
To activate Log mode, users can head into the Camera app, tap the Quick Controls or Settings icon, go to Advanced Video Options, and switch on the Log mode toggle. They can then choose between enabling it in just Pro Video Mode or in both standard and Pro Video Mode. This update gives creators more control over their video footage, especially when shooting in challenging lighting conditions.
