Samsung Launches DigiArivu Programme in Tamil Nadu

Samsung India has partnered with the United Nations Global Compact Network India to launch DigiArivu, a transformative education initiative designed to strengthen digital and STEM learning in Tamil Nadu’s government schools. The programme was inaugurated by Thiru Dr. Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, the state’s Minister for School Education.

Empowering Students Through Tech in Tier-2 Cities

DigiArivu will initially benefit over 3,000 students across 10 government schools in Kancheepuram and Ranipet districts. Samsung has been running education CSR initiatives since 2013, including Samsung Smart School and Samsung Innovation Campus programmes, and DigiArivu expands this commitment with a community-centric model tailored for tier-2 and tier-3 regions.

Comprehensive Learning Ecosystem

The programme addresses real on-ground needs identified through research with state schools and inputs from Samsung’s Sriperumbudur manufacturing plant employees. Key interventions include Building as Learning Aid (BaLA) designs, digital learning equipment, activity-based STEM education, and teacher training sessions.

DigiArivu also provides career guidance for Class 12 students, education expert speaker series, health awareness camps, and Tamil and English libraries with competitive exam books. The initiative aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goal 4, which aims to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education for all by 2030.

“Through DigiArivu, we are creating a digitally-enabled learning environment that will help students build future-ready skills,” said SH Yoon, President of Samsung Chennai Plant.

Parallel Skilling Initiative

Complementing DigiArivu, Samsung’s Innovation Campus programme is training 5,000 students in Tamil Nadu in high-demand domains like Artificial Intelligence, IoT, Big Data, and Coding. This dual approach ensures students gain both foundational education and industry-relevant technical skills.
