Samsung Galaxy Watch 4, Watch 4 Classic, and Buds 2 pricing and colour variants reportedly revealed

Samsung has managed to incrementally increase the battery capacity of the 44mm Galaxy Watch4 in comparison to its predecessor, but that is not the case for the 40mm model. As per certification by Safety Korea, we can see that both sizes are getting upgraded in the next generation.

The upgrade will be in increments as a week-long battery endurance will not be possible for full-fledged smartphones.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch5 40mm (Model no.-EB-BR900ABY) will have a 276mAh battery, an upgrade from 247mAh one. The larger Samsung Watch5 44mm with the model number (EB-BR910ABY) will have a 397mAh battery up from a 361mAh battery.

This is only for the vanilla watch but we are not yet sure about the sizes as the Watch3 had a 45mm version, not 44mm. The other versions of the Watch5 have not yet been certified.

The battery life is a combination of two functions, it arrives with the capacity and the efficiency of the hardware. The Watch4 generation introduced the Exynos W920, a 5nm chip, comparatively more efficient than the 10nm Exynos 9110 that was used in the Watch3 Series and the 12nm Snapdragon Wear 4100 that featured in certain non-Samsung watches.

4nm foundries are running at full capacity, so a completely new and more efficient wearable chip is highly unlikely. Prior to this, Samsung has found a way to integrate a thermometer into the next-gen watch, this will aid in tracking skin temperature. This will be useful to detect early signs of infection as well as tracking ovulation cycles.

The Galaxy Watch5 generation will not be unveiled until H2 of 2022, however, we should see more details leak as we inch closer to the launch.
