Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 specs leaked may come with UNISOC chipset

The renders of the rumoured Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 were leaked recently, with the specifications of the upcoming tablet also having been published today. This bit of information comes to us via the same source of the renders, 91Mobiles, in partnership with @OnLeaks, who have revealed the specifications of the upcoming tablet.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 Specs(Leaked)

For starters, the Galaxy Tab A8 (2021) will pack a 10.5-inch WUXGA (1920×1200) TFT panel clocked at 60Hz. An IPS LCD panel would have been ideal, but the compromise is understandable, given that it is a low-cost offering. Moving on to its innards, the Galaxy Tab A8 2021 will pack a slightly dated UNISOC Tiger T618 SoC.

The 12nm chipset packs two Cortex-A75 cores clocked at 2.0GHz, six Cortex-A55 cores at 1.6GHz, and an ARM Mali G52-MP2 GPU. Its performance is on par with the mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 660.

Other Galaxy Tab A8 (2021) specs include a 7,040mAh battery, an 8MP rear camera sensor and a 5MP selfie camera. There is no word about fast charging support, so we’re probably stuck with a 15W charger again. Samsung will offer the tablet in different configurations depending on the market. Some will have 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage while others will have 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage or 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

Hardware-wise, the Galaxy Tab A8 (2021) is a bit too identical to its predecessor, the Galaxy Tab A7. Nothing seems to have changed, including its screen size, battery capacity and cameras. One could also consider the UNISOC chipset to be a bit of a downgrade, given the limited software support that comes with it.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 will come in three hues, namely gold, grey and silver, with October 21 likely to be the launch date for the Indian market. It will retail for Rs 18,999 or $250, which will likely differ in the US market.
