In 2021, Samsung marked a significant milestone by introducing its inaugural Bluetooth-enabled object tracker, the Samsung Galaxy SmartTag. With over two years have passed since the debut of the Galaxy SmartTag, the prominent South Korean technology giant seems to be gearing up for the launch of its successor. Recently, our attention was drawn to the imminent arrival of the Samsung Galaxy SmartTag 2, which has made its presence felt on the NBTC certification website.

Merely a few weeks ago, the Samsung Galaxy SmartTag 2 emerged on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) database, revealing crucial insights into its design and pivotal specifications. This forthcoming object tracker from Samsung had also been previously spotted on the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) certification website, a few months back. Let’s delve into the intricacies for a more comprehensive understanding.

Samsung Galaxy SmartTag 2 as Seen on NBTC

The spotlight shines on the Samsung Galaxy SmartTag 2 as it graces the NBTC certification website, identified by the model number EI-T5600. A closer inspection of the listing further discloses the incorporation of ultra-wide-band (UWB) technology in the upcoming object tracker. Prior listings have already verified that the Samsung Galaxy SmartTag 2 will make use of the latest Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity.

The original iteration of the Samsung Galaxy SmartTag predominantly relied on Bluetooth connectivity, without the inclusion of UWB technology. Yet, Samsung later introduced an enhanced variant known as the Samsung Galaxy SmartTag+, which encompassed support for both Bluetooth and UWB technology.

Per the FCC certification listing for the Samsung Galaxy SmartTag 2, it has been unveiled that the device will feature compatibility with a 3.0V power supply, an FPCB antenna, and a single channel. At present, details regarding the specific specifications of the Galaxy SmartTag 2 remain scant. However, anticipations run high that further insights will surface as the device is anticipated to grace other certification platforms in the forthcoming weeks.
