Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim to Launch in May 2025, Not at January Event

Recently, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim was spotted on Geekbench, confirming that the device indeed exists, despite the series of leaks and rumors surrounding the device. And though the Galaxy S25 series will be launched at Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event on January 22, the S25 Slim is no longer expected to be revealed alongside it.

The device is reportedly slated for a May 2025 launch per a fresh report out of China. This means that at the Galaxy Unpacked event, only the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra models should see their debut. However, it’s still possible Samsung will tease the S25 Slim at the event, much like how the company previewed the Galaxy Ring alongside the S24 series last year. The ring didn’t become available for sale until June, lending support to the idea of a delayed launch for the S25 Slim.

One thing to keep in mind is that it is unknown if the release date shared by the tipster Setsuna Digital is for the Chinese market specifically or not, or for a global release. It’s said that the S25 Slim will feature a thickness between 6.1mm and 6.9mm, a marked decrease compared to other S-series flagships that land somewhere in the 7.6mm range. This slim profile will likely place it in competition with the iPhone 17 Air, which is expected to debut in the fall.

It will reportedly run Android 15 and be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset along with 12GB of RAM. The rumored specs include a 6.6-inch display and a 5,000mAh battery, and it will offer a combination of power and performance in a slim, sleek package, this device holds. Although there’s no word on the launch date, it looks like the S25 Slim will be arriving as an exciting addition to the Galaxy S25 series — which will be appearing later in the year.
