The Samsung Galaxy S25 FE is shaping up to be a modest upgrade over its predecessor, at least when it comes to the camera setup, according to recent leaks. Previous reports have claimed that the next S lineup features an upgraded selfie camera and a 50 MP main rear camera, which seems unchanged from last year.

Samsung Galaxy S25 FE Camera Details Leak Reveals Minor Upgrades With The Same 8MP Telephoto From S24 FE

But the latest info on the phone’s telephoto camera isn’t as upbeat. The Galaxy S25 FE will apparently feature an 8 MP telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom, just like the one found on the S24 FE. In 2025, an 8 MP telephoto camera on a phone in this price class seems ridiculously dated, but Samsung appears to be sticking with it. On the positive side, the S25 FE will still retain this feature (unlike the Galaxy S25 Edge, which doesn’t have a dedicated telephoto lens).

The rest of the rear camera setup seems unchanged as well, with a 12 MP ultrawide camera matching the S24 FE’s specs. This suggests the only notable camera upgrade in the S25 FE will be on the front, with its selfie shooter expected to be enhanced. Aside from the camera details, the S25 FE is rumored to get a slight chipset upgrade. The new model will reportedly replace the Exynos 2400e from the S24 FE with the full Exynos 2400, marking a minor performance boost.

Overall, the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE looks like a very incremental update this year, with little change in camera hardware aside from the front-facing lens. Unless Samsung surprises us with some other feature enhancements, this refresh seems aimed at maintaining the FE series’ position rather than redefining it. We’ll have to wait for the official launch to see if there’s more to the story.
