Samsung Galaxy S22 launch is expected in the first quarter of 2022. We have heard rumours about the phone running on either the Snapdragon 898 processor or a flagship Exynos chipset, depending on the region. The Samsung Galaxy S22 has now made an appearance on the Geekbench benchmarking website. From the looks of it, Samsung is indeed working towards launching multiple flagship devices. We already have the Galaxy S22 series model numbers, along with the 50MP GN5 ISOCELL camera sensor potentially found in the Galaxy S22 and S22+. So let’s have a look at all the leaked details

Samsung Galaxy S22 Details

The Geekbench listing was dug up by 91mobiles and contains some valuable information. According to the Geekbench listing, the upcoming flagship device by Samsung will be coming with the model number SM-S901U. While the variant, bearing model number SM-S901U, does not explicitly state Galaxy S22 anywhere, reports on the internet have suggested that it will be the base variant of the upcoming Samsung flagship smartphone series.

Samsung Galaxy S22 spotted on Geekbench with Snapdragon 895 | Details here....

Interestingly, the smartphone appears to be running on the next generation Qualcomm Snapdragon flagship chipset, which could be the Snapdragon 895 (or Snapdragon 898). The chipset in question appears to feature four efficiency cores clocked at 1.79GHz, three mid cores clocked at 2.5GHz, and one peak performance core clocked at 3GHz.

The configuration is in line with what Qualcomm typically uses with its flagship processors, although the benchmarks scores suggest that the benchmark test was likely conducted on unfinished firmware. Moving to the benchmarking scores of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S22, it scores 475 points in the single-core tests. In addition, the upcoming flagship device by Samsung scores 1,393 points in the multi-core tests.

The Geekbench reveals that the chipset is equipped with the Adreno 730 GPU. The Samsung Galaxy S22 variant we are looking at here comes with 8GB RAM and we expect to see a higher 12GB RAM option launch as well. Lastly, the Samsung Galaxy S22 will ship with the latest Android 12 software, which doesn’t come as a surprise. Besides, the listing also reveals that the upcoming flagship device will run on Android 12 OS right out of the box.

Now, the issue here is that the scores are pretty low for a flagship chipset. So, at this moment, it is pretty difficult to exactly point out the name of the chipset. Only time will tell what the brand holds in store for us in the coming days.
