Samsung unveiled its latest Galaxy S22 Series in India. The lineup comprises the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra. Samsung launched the devices via a live stream that was hosted on their social media platforms. The Galaxy S22 Series carries a slew of upgrades over its predecessor. Let us take a look at detailed look at all the specs of the devices in this lineup.
Samsung Galaxy S22:
The Samsung Galaxy S22 features a 6.1″ Full HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with support for a variable refresh rate ranging between 48-120Hz and a layer of Gorilla Glass Victus+ for enhanced protection.
The Galaxy S22 is powered by the 4nm octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip paired with 8GB RAM. In the optics department, the device carries a triple camera setup with a 50MP primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, a 12MP ultrawide-angle lens, and a 10MP telephoto shooter.
For selfies, the Galaxy S22 has a 10MP selfie shooter with an f/2.2 aperture.
The Samsung Galaxy S22 comes with up to 256GB onboard storage, in terms of connectivity options you get 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS/ A-GPS, and a USB Type-C port. In terms of the sensors, the Galaxy S22 features an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, gyro, hall, magnetometer, and a proximity sensor. You also get an in-display fingerprint sensor. In addition to this, the phone gets an IP68 dust and water resistance rating. The Samsung Galaxy S22 runs on Android 12 with One UI 4.1 on top.
In terms of the battery, the device has a 3,700mAh battery with support for 25W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. The phone comes with Wireless PowerShare for charging other devices that have wireless charging support.
The Samsung Galaxy S22 has been priced at 72,999 INR for the base 8GB RAM+128GB variant while the 8GB RAM+256GB model comes with a price tag of 76,999 INR.
In terms of color options, you get Green, Phantom Black, and Phantom White colors.
Samsung Galaxy S22+:
The Samsung Galaxy S22+ features a 6.6″ Full HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, bigger than the Galaxy S22 with the same variable rate of 48-120Hz refresh rate. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip and paired with 8GB RAM.
In terms of optics, the Galaxy S22+ features a triple camera setup on the rear with a 50MP primary sensor with an f/1.8 wide-angle lens and OIS. The setup has a 12MP ultrawide-shooter and a 10MP telephoto shooter. On the front, you get a 12MP selfie shooter.
The Galaxy S22+ runs on the same Android 12 OS with One UI 4.1 on top. The phone supports WiFi 6E as well as Ultra-Wideband support, and it has a bigger 4,500mAh battery with support for 45W wire charging and 15W wireless charging. It also gets the option for Wireless PowerShare support.
The device has an in-display fingerprint sensor. The Galaxy S22+ has been priced at 84,999 INR for the 8GB RAM+128GB variant while the 8GB RAM+256GB variant has been priced at 88,999 INR. You get the same color options as the vanilla model.
Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra specs:
The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra features a 6.8″ Edge QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 3X Display with a dynamic refresh rate of 1-120Hz along with a touch sampling rate of 240Hz in the game mode. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip and it has been paired with 12GB RAM.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra comes with a quad-camera setup on the rear with a 108MP primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, along with a 12MP ultrawide shooter, a 10MP telephoto shooter with 3x optical zoom, and another 10MP telephoto shooter with 10x optical zoom support. On the front, you get a 40MP selfie shooter.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra arrives with up to 512GB of onboard storage. In terms of connectivity options, the device supports 5G, 4G LTE, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS/A-GPS, and a USB Type-C port. In terms of the sensors available on the device, you get an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, gyro, hall, magnetometer, and a proximity sensor. For security, the device has an in-display fingerprint scanner.
Samsung has also bundled the S Pen Stylus with the Galaxy S22 Ultra that sits under a dedicated component on the device just like the previous Galaxy Note models. The device packs a 5,000mAh battery with support for 45W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. It also has Wireless PowerShare for charging other wireless charging-supported devices.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra begins at 1,09,999 INR for the 12GB RAM+256GB variant while the 12GB+512GB variant has been priced at 1,18,999 INR. India has not received the 8GB RAM+128GB variant and 12GB+1TB options that debuted in the global markets. The device will be available in Burgundy, Phantom Black, and Phantom White colors.
The availability of the Galaxy S22 Series is yet to be announced in India. However, you can reserve the phones for now. Pre-orders will begin from the 23rd of February.
