The Samsung 9100 PRO has sequential read/write speeds of up to 14,800 MB/s and 13,400 MB/s allowing the SSD to essentially outperform the previous 990 PRO by 99%. The random read and write speeds up to 2,200K IOPS and 2,600K IOPS make for quick data processing and swift multitasking. By having this level of features, the SSD looks attractive for professional creators who manage AI workloads and gamers who want immersive performance.

Samsung is claiming it has an improved heat management system that achieves 49% increased power efficiency over its most recent graphics architecture. The SSDs feature an integrated heatsink—8.8mmT for 1TB to 4TB models and 11.25mmT for the 8TB variant—to maintain stable, high-speed performance without overheating. A highlight of the lineup, the 8TB model will be the first consumer NVMe SSD of its kind from Samsung and will complement high-performance gaming, next-gen content creation, and demanding professional workloads.

With broad compatibility, the Samsung 9100 PRO can be installed on gaming consoles, desktops, and laptops, for easy upgrades. Along with Samsung’s Magician software—which offers optimization tools, easy data migration, and advanced security features for better performance and data protection—also shipped. Samsung will release the 9100 PRO in four storage options—1TB, 2TB, 4TB, and 8TB. The 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB models will be available starting March 18, 2025, while the 8TB version will arrive in the second half of 2025. The SSDs are priced at ₹14,999 for 1TB, ₹25,499 for 2TB, and ₹49,999 for 4TB.
