Samsung’s foldable lineup could double in size next year. Tipster TheGalox says up to six Galaxy Z devices are planned for 2027, including a brand-new Galaxy Z Slide and a Galaxy Z Fold 9 Pro.
Samsung has not confirmed anything, so this is a rumoured line-up.
More on this topic: TechnoSports Samsung Foldables coverage.
Key Details at a Glance
| Rumoured Model | Notes |
|---|---|
| Galaxy Z Slide | Sliding mechanism that expands the screen outward |
| Galaxy Z TriFold 2 | Expected to be the first launched in the year |
| Galaxy Z Fold 9 Ultra | Top Fold tier |
| Galaxy Z Fold 9 Pro | New tier between Fold 9 and Fold 9 Ultra |
| Galaxy Z Fold 9 | Standard book-style foldable |
| Galaxy Z Flip 9 | Keeps the clamshell design |
Six Devices, One Year
Samsung usually ships two or three foldables a year, so six would be more than double. The tip also expects better battery life, thinner designs and lighter bodies across the range.
Learn about the line on Samsung Galaxy Fold.
What Is the Galaxy Z Slide?
Unlike a Fold or Flip, the Z Slide reportedly uses a sliding mechanism that expands the screen outward. Samsung has shown sliding display technology before, including an MWC concept, but the screen size and the way it works are unknown.
Earlier reports suggested a rollable phone might not arrive until closer to 2028.
The Fold 9 Pro Tier
The source gives no specs for the Fold 9 Pro. Its reported role is to add a tier between the Fold 9 and Fold 9 Ultra, with different sizes, features and prices.
More tiers give Samsung more price points, which may suit buyers who want a Fold but not the top model.
Why It Matters
Samsung faces growing competition in foldables from Chinese brands. A bigger lineup is one way to cover more budgets and ideas, from the TriFold at the top to the Flip at the entry point.
Pair this with the One UI 10 rumours, which point to the Fold 9 and Flip 9 as possible launch devices. See our Samsung foldable coverage.
What Is Not Confirmed
- The model list comes from a tipster, and Samsung has confirmed none of it.
- Specs, pricing and launch dates for each model.
